Through Arthur's Eyes
Through Arthur's Eyes
In 2016 I found a cardboard box by the side of the road, waiting for the garbage collection. In it were some Christmas decorations, a high school yearbook, and hundreds of Kodak slides. After spending time pouring over the images and yearbook, I learnt that the hobby photographer’s name was Arthur Auer. He had just passed away, hence why his things were in a box on the curb. I discovered so much about his life through his images. This print is a projection of one of Arthur’s slides; of his family. My daughter’s hand is reaching towards it, as the figures look back at us, and Arthur, through a window.
